Primary Prevention Coordinator, The Turning Point
Vanessa Baum provides sexual violence prevention programming for youth, parents, and youth-serving professionals in her role at The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center of Collin County. With a Master of Public Health, Vanessa is passionate about creating healthier communities through youth work grounded in research. Before joining The Turning Point, Vanessa worked in updating Title IX policy and prevention trainings at the UT Health Science Center of Houston and partnered with the ACLU of Texas to create more affirming school environments for transgender youth. Vanessa believes that preventing violence comes not only through formal programming, but through challenging norms supportive of violence in our everyday lives.
