Saihba Ali, MS Counseling, LPC, LMFT
Saihba Ali speaks three languages and possesses a deep understanding of American, Middle Eastern, and South Asian cultures. Saihba provides counseling services to the primary and secondary survivors of domestic violence and trauma at TMWF. Her services include crisis counseling, trauma assessment, trauma management, individual and group therapy, individual and group psychoeducation, and self-efficacy development.
Saihba has worked with DV survivors for over three years, and has acquired extensive training in culturally sensitive trauma informed counseling. She is trained in EMDR and BIPP.
In her extensive work with domestic abuse, Saihba has witnessed immense trauma inflicted upon domestic violence survivors in the form of alienation from their children as part of the perpetrators post-separation power and control dynamic. The added devastation of separation from their child/children on the survivor made it imperative to research and understand this form of abuse. Shaiba hopes to open dialogue and share her understanding of the same to facilitate informed assistance for survivors.
