Panel Discussion with Leaders in the Movement to End Intimate Partner Violence

A well-informed community response is key to addressing intimate partner violence in the workplace. This panel will offer an opportunity to ask questions and hear from leaders within the movement to end Intimate partner violence. Detective Jeff Rich from Plano Police Department, Rose Luna, Executive Director of Texas Association Against Sexual Assault and Mona Muro, Economic Justice Policy Coordinator with Texas Council on Family Violence will discuss how businesses can take an active part in victim safety within the workplace. Further, they will each provide their unique perspective on issues affecting the business community and then provide tools and resources that are available to assist employers.

Objectives:

  • Increase knowledge of how law enforcement can support employers who may have DV issues.
  • Increase knowledge of how local shelters and rape crisis centers can assist employees who may be impacted by intimate partner violence.
  • Increase knowledge of resources and options available to employers when responding to intimate partner violence.

This session currently qualifies for CEUs for the following: LPC, LMFT, LCDC, HRCI, TCOLE, TDCJ-CJAD
